Subway Map Floating on a New York Sidewalk

The artpiece built in stainless steel concrete and lights, expresses Schein’s understanding of the NY subway system like a flux inside a living body. This work is the starting point for the artist’s life long project about human rights, for it being the most democratic place in all cities. For this projet, Françoise Schein, received the Award for Excellence in Design from the Art Commission of the City of New York, in 1985. This artpiece is a New York landmark.
Team : Han Van de Bovenkamp sculptor, Peter Jevremov welding. The work was commissionned by the late Tony Goldman who was a visionary entrepreneur.
